Lights · Grades 5–8 unit

The picture plays the song from Music, drums included. It counts eight beats when that is the song. It does not open on a demo. If there is no song, it says to make one in Music.

Lights move with the beat. Students pick a color, an example such as Storm or Big boom, or Crazy. The sentence under the looks says what the sliders do. Rain splashes. Fireworks explode. The microphone stays off unless they choose device sound.

Guided start

  1. Press Play. Read the song name. Sound can stay off. The picture should jump on the kick.
  2. Switch one Look: Bars, Kaleidoscope, Clouds, Stars, or Code.
  3. Grade 8: open a song from Beats or Score. The word should match that pattern.

Accommodations

Same plan as the unit page. Do not grade by ear. Reduced motion slows the spin. The word still updates. Device sound is optional and easy to skip. No microphone is required.

Code is a picture that grows with the beat, not a programming lesson.
